About

Hello we're a mother and duaghter from Armidale, and Welcome to Black Tulip Quilts online patchwork and quilting shop opened in November 2014. We sell a range of quality quilting fabrics, quilitng supplies and handmade quilts online from Newcastle Australia.  You'll find designer fabrics from the largest manufacturers such as Moda, Riley Blake, Michael Miller, Art Gallery & Lecien - just to name a few, as well as more boutique fabric manufacturers including Lewis and Irene, Fabric Freedom and organic fabric from Birch.  All fabric can be used not only for quilting, but for making clothes and accessories too.

For sewers I don't just stock cotton fabrics but also designer jersey knits, fleece and more.   A great selection of sewing patterns, for both adults and kids is available as well as an extensive range of sewing supplies including interfacing, threads, fabric markers, buttons, zippers, motifs, pins, needles and so much more.

For bag makers we are building our range of supplies which now include magnetic clips, swivel hooks, interfacing and Vilene H630.  Our pattern collection is growing too, with both international and Australian designers.

I proudly support and stock many Australian pattern designers, companies such as Sewline who make the best fabric markers, fabric companies such as Burrangong backings for quilt backings and even iconic Australian family companies such as Birch Haberdashery.  Far too many to list individually, but I do my best to stock Australian made and owned.

My handmade quilts have all been deisgned and made by me - many of which I'm adding to my quilt patterns and applique patterns.  I also make custom quilts, working with you to create a perfect design.

My aim is to provide you with great fabric and quilting supplies at reasonable prices, fantastic customer service (prompt answers & daily shipping) and a secure online payment system.  As a quilter and sewer myself, I hope that I can help you out with a good selection and assist if you have any questions.

17 years ago, pregnant with my first baby, I made my first baby quilt and like many of you with the quilting bug, I haven't stopped.

Check back often to find our what's new in store, as I will be increasing my quilting fabric range all the time as my business grows - want something thats not in store, you can email me suggestions too.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
